The Bond Tribute Band – The Name Is Band perform the Bond themes – either with or without our girl dancers and with or without pyrotechnics.  The set is bursting with Bond themes such as Diamonds are Forever, From Russia With Love, The Man With the Golden Gun, Thunderball, Skyfall, Live and Let Die, You Know My Name, Nobody Does It Better and so many more!  The Name Is Band only ever perform fully live – there are no backing tracks or miming involved when we perform for your event.

The James Bond Tribute Band can also play a second set of covers, containing the best numbers from the 1960’s to date – Tom Jones, Tina Turner, Amy Winehouse, James Brown, Earth Wind & Fire, Kaiser Chiefs, Adele, Florence and the Machine plus many others.  The set is guaranteed to get all your guests on the dance floor.

If required, we can also supply an easy listening cocktail set for your guests arrival -some laid back, jazzy, swing numbers to set the atmosphere for the evening or we can supply a swing set later in the evening if that’s more your style!

Bond Themed Weddings

The Bond Tribute Band The Name is Band have performed at some amazing James Bond Themed Weddings over the years!

The Bond films are always a big hit worldwide and there have been so many made over the years.  The gadgets.  The Bond girls.  The Bond cars. The baddies.  The action.  The music.  The many faces of Bond.

There are so many films to choose from and everyone always has their favourite!  Many couples now choose to have something a little different for their wedding and a Bond Tribute Band for your special day is always a hit.

The Bond Tribute Band The Name is Band perform the Bond Themes early in the evening, either through the drinks reception, the wedding breakfast, or towards the end of the meal to add impact, pizzazz and atmosphere.  Later in the evening we play a party set with floor-fillers from the 1960’s to present day chart hits to really get the party started!

Of course, we can also play a more laid-back and chilled set for a drinks reception with a few jazz/easy listening classics.  Having a James Bond theme for your wedding also means that your guests can really go to town with their outfits with the ladies in elegant evening dresses and gentlemen in DJs. We’ve even played weddings where the guests have turned up in their favourite character: Blofeld, Jaws, Pussy Galore, OddJob and even one guest who dressed as Daniel Craig but just wearing blue swimming trunks and a mask!  You can really let your imagination run wild.

Happy Birthday FRWL

Happy 50th Birthday to From Russia With Love!

This James Bond film, the second by Eon Productions and the second with the suave Sean Connery in the role as Bond was released on the 10th October 1963!  This of course featured the gypsy scene where the two ladies fought furiously over James Bond with Spectre as the baddie and with Daniela Bianchi as the Bond girl Tatiana Romanova.

The theme at the start of the film was John Barry’s James Bond Theme but the title song was performed by Matt Munro and heard during the film and playing over the end credits.  This is a lovely piece of music and a favourite Bond Theme that The Name is Band – a Bond Tribute band love to play!  Our own crooner is of course Gavin Lazarus and our version can be heard here on soundcloud or here on our website – www.bondtributeband.co.uk

Live & Let Die

Live and Let Die.  This bond theme song has been recorded by the Bond Tribute Band The Name is Band and we love it.  This is an awesome track and is the Bond Theme from the Bond Film Live & Let Die which starred Roger Moore in his first role as the 007 Agent.  Here Bond meets the dark forces of Voodoo and Dr Kanaga, Baron Samedi, snakes and Jane Seymour as the Bond Girl Solitaire.

Interestingly enough Clint Eastwood was approached to star as the next James Bond after Sean Connery left – but he declined as he felt the role should be played by someone with an English accent. Roger Moore was successful and a new Bond was born.  Live and Let Die was written by Paul and Linda McCartney and was a change in style from the previous Bond Themes written by John Barry.  This time it was pure rock and roll.

The Bond Tribute Band The Name is Band love the light and shade in this bond theme.  Another soft start but with lots of rock and a whole lot of roll.  Our drummer Matt Venn LOVES playing bond music, especially this number – loving the middle section when the drums start flying and he can really get stuck into making the whole number sound PHAT! Gavin Lazarus on vocals can adapt his voice to suit any number and this one has a lovely melodic start but then Gavin lets his rocky side soar.  An absolutely fabulous Bond Theme.

Bond Themed Party

There are lots of themes for parties nowadays but a Bond Themed Party is still one of the best themes around! It’s certainly an iconic theme and works for both males and females.  Ladies can be Bond girls for an evening and let’s face it, there are lots of Bond girls over the decades to base the look on – from the haughty Pussy Galore to the voluptuous Plenty O’Toole! Men can be Bond for the night and look suave and sophisticated with the single raised eyebrow and the strong chiseled Bond jaw clench.

If you really want to get the party started then Bond music is totally essential.  If you are planning an informal and laid back relaxed event with a few people attending, then buy one of the many 007 Bond Theme CDs with all the original performers – maybe even buy a Bond themed Karaoke CD and get everyone singing along to them.  To encourage people to get involved offer a prize for the best performance of the night such as a bottle of Martini – The Name is Band of course!

However, if you are planning something spectacular and really want to give your guests the WOW factor then you HAVE to get a live band that can really perform the bond music and, just like Bond, do not make any compromise on our sound or quality.  Of course, not just ANY band will do – you need THE best James Bond themed band in the UK – you need…… the Bond Tribute Band The Name is Band!  There is no other band like it and the Bond Tribute Band perform everything totally live with no backing tracks in sight.  Don’t accept any substitute!  Book the best!
